Marinucci’s 20 year research on the composer blends with his talent in creating a theatre of images and sounds. Giving birth to a living vibrating work.
Claudio Monteverdi’s works are from the 1950s a new classic in the repertoire . His fortune and revival started in the 1920s, captivating the simpathy and interest of composer Mailipero and poet D’annunzio. This outstanding duo used his poetics as a paradigma of the union of words and music in the italian language. Malipiero pursued a total edition of the composer’s works also. Modern performances were staged at the time. Also the german composer Carl Orff, set Monteverdi’s music in a modernized version for the theatre, creating some kind of a trittico with parts from Orfeo, Arianna and Il ballo delle ingrate, evoking his idea of musical tragedy.
The route started from the Camerata dei Bardi, describing the greek tragedy becoming modern opera, had came full circle.
